Description: Regarding the form, balance and proportions of the case, one can only describe these as examples of perfection of the style made famous in the Philadelphia area during the 1780-1800's. The design and carvings on the hood of the case are extraordinary in their execution and styling along with being historically significant and reflective of the exuberant flair of the young republic. The dial is the finest type that was produced in England. Case: Cherry and pine with mahogany carved elements. Works: Painted iron dial with brass, iron and steel works.
